Born and raised in the upper Midwest, Toni’s passion for drawing came early in life. Living in Asia for
seven years helped give her an appreciation for other cultures and environments. Whether it’s Asia, Africa, or America,
the created world is ours to enjoy, ponder, and preserve.
Currently residing in the Pacific Northwest with her husband,
Toni illustrates, paints wildlife, landscapes, children’s books, and portraits. Laboring with pen and ink, graphite,
watercolor, or acrylic, she has a gift to capture not only the image but also the heart and soul of her subject. She spends
many hours in fieldwork to understand the “why” as well as the “what” of any painting or drawing. She
studied the basics of art through Art Instruction School in Minneapolis, receiving a number of national awards. Toni further
enhanced her skills by attending workshops in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and studying wildlife art under several well known master
artists.
She has worked as a freelance illustrator for a large Publisher in Minneapolis and several private parties
having her artwork published in more than 10 books. Working with the community, she has participated in fundraisers for the
local school and the Boy Scouts. While in Asia she donated many hours to the illustrating of translated work.
